Bella Bacon b.2002 is a London based painter, coder and writer, exploring humanness and hopefulness.

Bella Bacon b.2002 is an artist based in London. Stemming from a background informed by the transformational power of art in therapy, Bacon works from her Camberwell studio, searching for empathetic understanding - towards herself and others. Her practice is a hopeful process that aspires to enlist thoughtfulness and kindness as a way to move forward, encouraged by her own belief that current society in the West is not the optimal state for modern humans to live in.

Having taken a year to study Apple Development, Bacon embraces modernity in an increasingly virtual world, but remains focused on including the crucial concepts of human feelings and behaviour in all mediums of art.

Bacon’s current work focuses on moments of love and connection, beginning with photographs of couples found in a Hungarian archive of community donated images. She initally works in charcoal, appreciating the authenticity of loose drawing. Later, Bacon introduces oil paint, layering colour slowly. She considers oil paint a chance to sculpt as well as paint, embracing its materiality.

She has upcoming exhibitions at Southwark Park Galleries and Apsara Studios, the latter in collaboration with art collective ‘Society Exclusive’.
